Murdered, Quibble becomes invincible.  He is no longer restrained by gravity or the speed of light or expectations.  He tracks the man who murdered him to a rundown bar two hundred miles from Quibble's hometown.  In an instant, Quibble is in the bar, on a stool beside the murderer.  There is a woman at the end of the bar trying to unshackle herself from moral restraint.  A grinning underage boy sheepishly drinks.  The bar top looks second-hand, with history.  Quibble orders a beer, but no one hears him.  The ceiling has an intoxicating checkered design.  He might stay a while.
